Poets and Saints

…and the moms who try to be both.

Hello. My name is…

img_5457Thorton Wilder.  No, that’s not my name.  But Thorton Wilder did write these lines from his play Our Town which inspired the title of this blog:

“Do any human realize life while they live it?”

“No, the poets and the saints do.  They do some.”

My name is Sara and I’m trying to “realize life” in a city in the Midwest with my husband and three-year-old daughter.  I’m an adoptive mother, the wife of a cancer survivor, and a former teacher turned playwright and nonfiction writer.

I knit (not very well), make gourmet food, read the classics, grow perennial flowers and organic veggies (when my child isn’t picking them) and pretend that I am Jane Austen as I write (not really, but it’s a nice thought).

I write about things that inspire me: these are  the daily inspirations that make my house a home and make me a better wife, mother, woman and writer.

On this blog you’ll find lots to inspire you too. From stories about raising children, to making my home a lovely place to live, to warming my soul with a good book or sharing an unforgettable story.  It’s about faith and friends.  Home and soul.

Together we will inspire one another.

Hi Sara,

I’m Julie, the editor of “Mamapedia Voices”, and we feature guest bloggers on Mamapedia, a site for Moms all across the country. I’ve just found your blog, and would like to invite you write a piece which could be featured on our site.

Though Mamapedia Voices has just started out, it is already receiving a lot of attention, both on our site, on our guest bloggers’ sites, and beyond. We promote our featured guest bloggers through emails, Twitter, Facebook and more. It’s a wonderful opportunity to grow your audience!

If you would like to participate, please take a look at Mamapedia Voices. Next, sign up here http://bit.ly/UTCGU to be on the blogger roster, and then you will be able to see the complete (and easy) instructions for submitting a piece for consideration.

Also, because we like your blog, please download a recognition badge from us- there are many fun designs to choose from here: http://www.mamapedia.com/voices/blogger_badge

Thank you, and I look forward to reading more of your work!

Best wishes,
Julie D’Agostino
